J/Fest July 12th
Mark your calendar for another great event.
It’s J/Fest time again and we need to make a good showing !
Plan to join us on Saturday July 12th for a great day of sailing followed by a cookout and awards party.
The club will be fielding a number of boats, and we have space for crew on all of them.
This is very casual, point to point sailing with all the models of J Boats from 22 to 53 feet participating.
Please reply that you would like to join us, so that we can determine how many boats to register.
Even if you can’t sail, plan to join your fellow club members for the evening festivities here at J/Port.
If you would like to enter a club boat and put your own crew together, please call or email Kevin for information.
See you on July 12th!
2008 Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta, Saturday, June 14, 2008
You can make a difference; you can save lives.
Come and race for a cure! Not a racer? Enter a Phantom Boat
Make a donation. Raise some funds.
The Leukemia Cup Regatta, initiated in Annapolis in 1993, has been raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society each year since that time. It is a home-grown event that deserves our support. Money’s will fund research to find cures for blood cancers.
Every five minutes someone is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Every ten minutes one of them will die. These are not statistics but human beings; someone’s child, husband, wife, friend and/or colleague.
As in past years, Chesapeake Boating Club is sponsoring J/80's to race in the Regatta. We invite you to join us.
Racers: Register with Chesapeake Boating Club, the deadline for registration is June 5. email cheryl@jsail.com; let us know whether you need to be placed with a racing team or are already with a team. You are expected to make a $50 donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in order to race. You also are invited to use your participation as a vehicle for raising funds. Rendezvous at J/Port on the morning of June 14 ready to race! (dock time 10am.- first warning signal 1200 hours)
If you do not race, register a Phantom Boat and use it as a fund raising tool.
If neither a racer nor fund-raiser, send a donation Every dollar helps save lives.
All fund-raisers, both Racers and Phantom Boats, are eligible for the same fund-raising prizes.
Brochures, which contain further information, are available at J Port.
